The Rear Window Display window contains:
- A main caption display field: This large text field displays captions as they are trapped by the input stream and made available to the ouput stream. The text will correspond to a complete caption in the Displayed Memory field of the Line-21 Decoder Window.
- Serial Port control area: This area contains a port setup button and a port open/close button. The port setup dialog lets you set the COM: port, baud, parity, data bits, and stop bits. If you're not sure what these mean, read the instruction manual which came with your caption data recovery decoder.**Note: The first time you run MoPix-21, it tries to open COM2: for output to the display. If this is incorrect, the open will fail and you should set the port number to match your hardware. Always leave the other settings for the display at 9600, n, 8, 1. Any changes you make will be saved as preferences.
- Board Location buttons: These buttons let you change, via software, how the RWC display board displays captions. If you press the Rear button, the data is displayed reversed, assuming the board is mounted in the rear of the theater. If you press the Front button, the data is displayed forward, assuming the board is mounted in the front of the theater. The Reset button instructs the board to restore its internal hardware settings, which are read when the board is first po
- Start/Stop Filter checkbox: This checkbox determines whether or not the captions which appear in the main caption display field are sent to the display board. When unchecked, captions continue to get trapped and displayed in the local window, but are not sent to the serial port.
- Clear Display button: This button allows you to erase the RWC display.
- Startup Message button: This allows you to send the default startup caption to the RWC display. You can set the startup caption in the general preferences dialog from the main screen's menu.
