NCAM creates summary of FCC's Internet Protocol Captioning Rules
On Friday, January 13, 2012, the FCC released rules for captioning of videos distributed via Internet Protocol (IP). This rule is an outcome of the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act which was signed into law in October of 2010. The rules cover only video previously captioned and distributed via broadcast, cable or satellite television. NCAM has created a four-page summary of the rules, including a schedule of implementation of covered Internet-distributed programming.
