The Real output window contains:
- IP Settings area: This area reflects the TCP/IP settings for the Real Server that CaptionKeeper is connected to.
- Connection Settings button: The Connection Settings button displays a dialog which allows you to set up TCP/IP parameters for the Real Server, as well as to set parameters for the text and window attributes of the RealText stream that's created on a RealPlayer.
- Listen checkbox: The Listen checkbox instructs the Real window to retrieve caption data from the currently selected input filter (typically the line-21 data-recovery decoder.)
- Webcast checkbox: The Webcast checkbox instructs the Real window to send caption data to the currently connected Real Server.
- Buffer Rollup checkbox and Lines picker: The Buffer Rollup controls allow CaptionKeeper to retain a specified number of roll-up caption lines before processing them for transmission or capture. This allows for rational display in window types that do not understand scrolling, like the "generic" Window Type. See RealText Options.
- Capture Settings area: This area is used to enable, disable, and control the archiving of inbound captions. The output
of the capture process is a **RealText** file containing timecoded text.
The Offset function allows you to translate the system times into multimedia (zero-based) timecodes for on-demand use.
The Open function allows you to open an existing timed-text file in RealText format. Note that you can capture captions without sending them to a server. This capability can be used to convert captioned videotapes to on-demand captioned media clips.
